Matthew O’Malley is Director of Music at Tiffin School, Kingston upon Thames, and Organist of Kingston Parish Church. He studied music at Hertford College, Oxford where he directed the Chapel Choir as Organ Scholar. Matthew has since been an organist of All Saints’ Fulham, St. Alfege Greenwich and St. James’ Hampton Hill. Matthew has enjoyed conducting and accompanying school choirs, orchestras and bands in concerts, on tour, and in recordings. Among the other choirs Matthew has directed are the Blackheath Centre for Singing, YMC Children’s Choir, Vox Chamber Choir, Maesbury Singers and the choral societies of Mid-Wessex, Shalford and Grimsby. Matthew was a member of Jesus College Choir Cambridge, the cathedral choirs of Wells, Guildford and Peterborough, and of chamber choirs including the Exon Singers, Syred Consort and Contrafactum. As a student, Matthew’s formative musical experiences were as a clarinettist with the National Children’s Wind Orchestra, Cambridgeshire County Youth Orchestra and Oxford University Philharmonia. Matthew has been Director of Music at Surbiton and Blackheath High Schools, and Assistant Director of Music at RGS Guildford.
